 Job Summary

The Medication Aide administers oral, and topical and rectal medications to residents, as ordered by a physician, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. The medication aide will operate within the constraints of established policy and procedures consistent with accepted/allowed standards of practice relevant to certification

 What you will do:

·         Records & Administers medications under the direction of a licensed nurse

·         Takes and records vitals

·         Assist CNA staff with performing personal care

·         Assist with admissions/discharge/transfer procedures and documentation

·         Accepts responsibility for safety and care of residents

 What you bring to the team

·         Current CNA & CMA license for Iowa or Med Manager Certification

·         Ability to clearly communicate in English verbally and in writing

·         Assures that “Five Rights” protocol is followed

·         Dependable and punctual

·         Patience and Empathy

·         Must be very adaptable

·         Literacy in written and spoke English

·         Ability to complete tasks independently

·         Background and Drug Screening participation
